Guwahatians, its time to rejoice! Guwahati girl Priyadarshini Chatterjee has been crowned fbb Femina Miss India 2016 at a scintillating event held at Yash Raj Studios, Mumbai. Sushruti Krishna was crowned the runner-up, while Pankhuri Gidwani became the second runner-up. Priyadarshini will now represent India at the global platform Miss World 2016.
An alumnus of Maria’s Public School, Guwahati, Priyadarshini completed her graduation from Hindu College, Delhi. Apart from Modelling, she also has a keen interest in dancing and trekking. She was particularly appreciated by the jury for her walk, which also won her the ‘Centro Miss Rampwalk’ title. It is, indeed, a proud moment for Priyadarshini and her family.
Another girl from Guwahati, Rajkanya Baruah won the ‘Olivia Bleach Miss Glowing Skin’ title, while Aradhana Buragohain, from Dibrugarh, jointly won the ‘fbb Miss Fashion Icon’ title along with Gayathri Reddy. A journalist by profession, Aradhana completed her schooling from Little Flower School and her graduation from Tezpur University, whereas Rajkanya is a proud alumnus of Faculty Higher Secondary School, Guwahati.
Answering the Q/A round, Priyadarshini said, “ Miss India should be true to herself, she should have a personality to reflect who she is. My personality reflects that and that is why I should be the next Miss India.”
The jury comprised of Bollywood biggies, Shilpa Shetty, Chitrangada Singh, Sonali Bendre, Manisha Koirala, Sonu Nigam, designer duo Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, designer Manish Malhotra, Amy Jackson, Ekta Kapoor, John Abraham, Anil Kapoor, Firoz A. Nadiadwala, along with tennis star, Sania Mirza.
The event was graced by Shahid Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, Tiger Shroff, Varun Dhawan, Badshah, who enthralled everyone with their sizzling performances. Karan Johar and Manish Paul were the host for the evening.
